Customer Reviews
This is a great saw. Like a previous reviewer I too upgraded from a Skill jigsaw. That saw was the last tool that I would reach for and tried to avoid using. It vibrated and jumped around in your hand. It would not cut straight up and down no matter how you adjusted the shoe. The blade wander was awful.
Needing to finish a project I was working on and no time to wait for shipping I had to buy from a big box store. I read the reviews here first and went out to the big box store looking for the highly rated Bosch EVK1590. But both of the big box stores no longer carries that saw. This saw is evidently it's replacement. A third local pro-dealer could no longer get that saw from their supplier either. So if you want one, you better buy it from Amazon while they are still in stock.

This saw is so much better than the old Black and Decker that it is replacing. The base plate is solid, the blade changes are simple, the motor has plenty of power, and the saw runs very smooth with little vibration. I have noticed a slight undercut that has been mentioned on other reviews. I tried to quantify it. If I have the orbital adjustment set to its least aggressive setting and I use a fine-cut blade, making a straight cut, I have measured a 1/32" deeper cut on the bottom of a 3/4" piece of wood stock. That may not sound like much, however if you make curved cuts, this will be noticeable with cuts in the curved areas not being at 90 degree angles to the surface. I do not have experience with other high-end jig saws to know if this an expected/common behavior. Just be warned that if you are doing fine woodworking, to cut outside the line and finish off with other shaping/sanding tools.
